Graeme is a Staff Specialist in Emergency Medicine at  Townsville University Hospital (TUH) in Queensland. He is also a credentialed clinical coordinator at TUH helping to provide clinical advice and telehealth support to those working in remote environments whilst also ensuring that retrieval is  done in a timely manner. He is Regional Medical Officer for Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) and teaches and examines QAS students undertaking Intensive Care Paramedic training.  He has extensive pre-hospital experience and has

performed over 200 aeromedical evacuations.  He is a member of Townsville University Hospital’s Patient Safety Committee and has extensive experience in both hospital and pre-hospital teaching. Graeme has completed a Masters  Degree in Trauma.

Jan is a Staff Specialist in Emergency Medicine at Townsville University Hospital who also continues to work as an Aeromedical Retrieval Physician. 

After his military service in the German Airforce he graduated from university in 1999.  He qualified as a pre-hospital Emergency Doctor (Notarzt) in Germany in 2001.  Initially training to become a surgeon he changed into the field of Emergency Medicine after moving to Australia in 2002. Since then he has worked in remote, regional and metropolitan locations throughout Australia. He gained significant experience in remote pre-hospital settings working in several

medical roles in Iraq (UNIKOM), Afghanistan (UNAMA) and Banda Aceh, Indonesia.  From 2007 onwards he worked in several positions providing aeromedical services from Cairns

and Townsville bases. As an Emergency Consultant at TUH he works regularly as a Medical Coordinator for Retrieval Services Queensland providing coordination and telehealth.  Beyond this he has a special interest in emergency ultrasound, toxicology and education.
